CLUSTER PROGRAM

INTRODUCTION
In the past, our engine cluster marketing programs focused on OEMs such as Mooney, Raytheon, Bellanca, EuroCopter, Agusta, etc. The OEM locked in a configuration; we made the modules and wired the cluster unit for one connector to the wire harness. The economics of quantity buys justified the initial engineering tasks and appropriate cost. However, responding to requests from the after market and kit builders for cluster units was expensive for all parties.
Therefore,
recognizing the expanding need for FAA certified instruments both for upgrading
existing panels and for the rapidly growing kit industry, we developed a new
approach. The program now offers
flexibility for module location in the cluster, several options for each module
layout and much lower pricing while maintaining the use of TSO’d instruments.
PROGRAM
OVERVIEW & IMPLEMENTATION

To
implement the program copies of the appropriate specification sheets are given
to the potential user. The user selects the various options clearly set forth on the
sheets and defines the desired layout, i.e.; 2x3, 2x6, 1x6, 1x1, etc.
No limit to the layout options. For
the fuel quantity modules, the user must provide the “ohm” resistance
readings form the senders in the fuel tank/s.
The measurement should be taken at the specified tanks levels set forth
on the sheet where the sender wire will be attached to the module.
We will then design the scale (not always linear) according to the
results of the measurements for each tank.
The
modules will be delivered with a mounting frame assembled according to the
layout selected and with the appropriate connectors for each module.
The user is responsible for riveting the connectors to the location on
the back plate of the frame where each module is to be installed, at the
user’s option (see installation drawings).
The
final step is to send copies of the sheets to a Sigma Tek Dealer who will
forward them to Sigma Tek for production. Deliveries
will be within 6-8 weeks from receipt of order.
